Planning & Preparing for Your Virtual Conference Experience

The ATD TK virtual experience is very similar to an ATD live conference, minus the sore feet. There are more than 60+ hours of content, including opportunities to network, connect with ATD Staff, watch on-demand content and download resources that you can view off-line. However, just like a live experience, you will maximize your experience by planning out your schedule and identifying your main goals and top priorities. A majority of the sessions will be available on-demand after the event.

TK Live!

We are coming to you live from New Orleans! Catch live interviews from industry experts, discuss the hottest topics within the field, and listen-in next week as we spill the tea on the latest tech trends. Hosted by the amazing learning experience designer, Cath Ellis, you’ll never know who will be joining TK Live!

Let’s Get Technical!

You will need a stable internet connection to view conference recordings on-demand and to view the live sessions taking place February 7–9.

1. Make sure your browser is up to date with the latest version. For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome. Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Opera are also supported. Internet Explorer is not supported.

2. Confirm your operating system is up to date. We support Windows 7 or later and Mac OS 10.12 or later.

3. Ensure your camera and microphone have permission to be used. Check your browser and device settings.

4. Install Zoom Client for Meetings to participate in education and networking sessions. Having the software installed on your computer or device in advance of participating and being logged-in (a basic, free account is all you need) will make it easier for you to use all of the technical features.

Feeling Sluggish? Here are some tips to optimize the speed:

  • Disable browser extensions or plugins that are large or privacy related.
  • Limit to one browser tab open with the virtual platform when participating in sessions or private meetings.
  • Disconnect from any VPN.

Networking

One of the best parts about attending an ATD conference has always been the lasting relationships you build with the people with whom you meet and learn from.

We’ve put together a great mix of formal and informal networking opportunities for you:

  • You can search for other attendees under the People tab (i.e. Attendee Directory). You can scroll through the list or you can select the filter option above the attendee list.

  • Join the Discussion! Visit the Social Feed under the People tab. You can add photos or share resources (via hyperlink) with other attendees.

  • After Chat: Enjoy a session and want to continue the discussion? Join an after chat or create your own by visiting the Social Feed under the People tab. You can add photos or share resources (via hyperlink) with other attendees.

  • Share your experiences and insights during sessions where you can talk with fellow attendees via Chat. The chat will appear on screen once the session is live!
