Planning & Preparing for Your Virtual Conference Experience

The ATD TK virtual experience is very similar to a TK live conference, minus the sore feet. There are more than 30 hours of content, including opportunities to network, connect with ATD Staff, watch on-demand content and download resources that you can view offline. However, just like a live experience, you will maximize your experience by planning out your schedule and identifying your main goals and top priorities. A majority of the sessions will be available on-demand after the event.

Let’s Get Technical!

You will need a stable internet connection to view conference recordings on-demand and to view the live sessions taking place February 7–9.

1. Make sure your browser is up to date with the latest version. For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome. Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Opera are also supported. Internet Explorer is not supported.

2. Confirm your operating system is up to date. We support Windows 7 or later and Mac OS 10.12 or later.

3. Ensure your camera and microphone have permission to be used. Check your browser and device settings.

4. Install Zoom Client for Meetings to participate in education and networking sessions. Having the software installed on your computer or device in advance of participating and being logged in (a basic, free account is all you need) will make it easier for you to use all of the technical features.

Feeling Sluggish? Here are some tips to optimize the speed:

  • Disable browser extensions or plugins that are large or privacy-related.
  • Limit to one browser tab open with the virtual platform when participating in sessions or private meetings.
  • Disconnect from any VPN.

Download the app, select “ATD TK” from the list of events, enter your email (that was used for registration), and click “Forgot Password” to receive your access key. The app loads locally to keep things speedy and occasionally needs to be refreshed to pull the most current information. Attendees can update their app using the hamburger menu within the TK event and selecting "Refresh Schedule."

Once in the TK24 mobile app, click on the Networking icon to view the Attendee List. Be sure to select “Share My Info with Colleagues” in the settings of the event app to be visible on the attendee list and to receive in-app messages. Conference Programming

Keynote Sessions:

Our keynote speakers are well-known in the field. On Friday, February 9, Sinead Bovell will present at 8 a.m., and Mick Ebeling will present at 9:45 a.m.

Scheduled/Live Sessions:

Sessions on February 7–9 with a specific time indicated on the agenda, will run online and in-person at that time unless otherwise indicated. Sessions within the On-Demand tab of the virtual platform were pre-recorded, and speakers are encouraged to stop by their session page during the live event to answer your comments below their video.

Hands-on Learning:

Hands-on learning sessions are interactive sessions presented in person in Los Angeles where attendees will follow along on their own devices. Several sessions will require software to participate fully. Please see the session description for software requirements.

On-Demand Sessions:

If you’ve missed anything along the way, a lot of sessions have been recorded and will be available until April 15, 2024. Recordings will be available in the On-Demand tab.

Session Evaluations:

Session evaluations can be accessed through the ATD TK24mobile app. You will also receive a separate email from speakers@td.org to access session evaluations online. Please log in using your email address as your username and your last name as your password to complete an evaluation for each session you attended. The session evaluation will close on April 15, 2024. After the 15th, you will only be able to print a copy of your certificate of attendance. You will not be able to add additional sessions to your transcript.

Networking

One of the best parts about attending an ATD conference has always been the lasting relationships you build with the people with whom you meet and learn from.

Make the most of your TK24 experience by spending time in Studio TK—it is the place to see and be seen! Explore all that Studio TK has to offer including our sponsor kiosks, ATD Central, stages for the active learning, demo, and Meet-N-Geek sessions, Community Conversations, and the ATD Store, where the Meet & Greets with several authors will be held. You’ll also find space to sit and recharge your devices when needed. Studio TK is a powerful addition to all the outstanding sessions you will be attending. Full details are available in the TK24 mobile app.

Through our virtual platform, Juno, you will have the ability to connect with fellow attendees in many ways.

Once you’ve logged in, we recommend that you set up your profile including adding your photo, bio, X and LinkedIn handles, and tags. Customizing your profile will make it easier for people with similar roles and interests to connect with you.

We’ve put together a great mix of formal and informal networking opportunities for you:

  • You can search for other attendees under the People tab (i.e. Attendee Directory). You can scroll through the list, or you can select the filter option above the attendee list.

  • Join the Discussion! Visit the Social Feed under the People tab. You can add photos or share resources (via hyperlink) with other attendees.

  • Share your experiences and insights during sessions where you can talk with fellow attendees via chat. The chat will appear on the screen once the session is live!

  • Join us for a virtual performance by Flying Ivories Dueling Piano Bar.
