David Porcaro, PhD, Vice President, Learning and Innovation, is a global leader in applying learning science and evidence-based design to technology-based products globally. He most recently served as Director of Learning Engineering at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and before that was Director of Education at Alef Education in Abu Dhabi, and formerly Director of Learning Design for Pearson. He has taught, consulted or designed learning experiences across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North America and the Pacific Islands. He has a PhD in Learning Design and Technology from the University of Georgia, an MPhil in Oriental Studies from Cambridge University, and a BA in Near Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University.
