Instructional Designer , Trainer/Facilitator
Learning activities should be engaging, exciting, and focused on a particular topic. They should also be simple to execute and simple for the participants to understand. Creating an activity around a card game is effective because most participants have played card games, so there is little overhead or confusion about what to do. This session will focus on the concepts, ideas, and techniques of creating digital and analog card games. The tools will merely be mentioned as methods of implementing the concept within an organization. Digital card games will be demonstrated and provide you a chance to play an analog card game to experience the fun and, more importantly, the instructional outcomes of using cards for learning.

Application on the Job:

  • Discover how to use the concept of a digital or analog card game to teach critical dialogue training.
  • Explore how a card game can be used as a tool or surveying learners and conducting a mini needs assessment.
  • Discover how much interaction, fun, and learning occurs while participating in an activity using cards.
