TechKnowledge is hosting its first-ever hackathon! Inspired by developer hackathons where programmers worked collaboratively on a software project, you’ll have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and work alongside your fellow conference participants to solve a sticky, real-world challenge.
The best part: You’ll be giving back. Teams will brainstorm and prototype a solution for the nonprofit, mission-driven organization Upwardly Global, which helps immigrant and refugee professionals build their careers in the United States. Think big and put your design skills to the test.
Participation is limited, so please use the TechKnowledge conference app to sign up in advance. Participants will be assigned a short briefing document to review beforehand, and teams will be created at the start of the hackathon. Food and refreshments will be provided to fuel your mission during this evening event.
You must be registered for TK and sign-up through the TK App to participate. A confirmation with information about the app will be sent to you within one day of your TK registration. Once received, log-in to the TK App and simply add the Hack-a-thon event to your personal agenda by selecting "Add to Agenda." Once added, you're all set!
There are about 2 million immigrants and refugees currently in the U.S. who have college degrees from their home countries but are unemployed or working far below their skill level. Upwardly Global is the first and longest-serving organization that helps these men and women integrate into the professional American workforce.
